Women’s Healthcare Challenges in Maryland: Infant Mortality and Low Birthweight Babies


Recently rated number 1 in the nation for women’s well-being, Maryland has an infant mortality rate approximately twice the rate of the best state, as rated in the 2012 Congressional Research Service report. There is a disconnect between Maryland’s obvious assets and the tragedy of infant mortality and developmentally disadvantaged children.
