Protect Our Schools: National Day of Action
Educators, students, parents, and our allies shared messages of unity to defend public education by organizing school walk-ins and walk-outs across Montgomery County, Maryland, and the country on Wednesday, March 19. More than a dozen MCPS schools participated.

Social Media Storm
MCEA members and community supporters participated in a two day social media storm, tagging County Executive Elrich, and asking him to stand with us for fully funded schools.

People's Press Conference
A coalition of pro-public education partners gathered for a press conference to call on the County Executive and County Council to fund the Board of Education's budget. Speakers included MCEA President Stein, BoE President Julie Yang, Superintendent Taylor, SEIU Local 500 President Pia Morrison, MCAAP President Christine Handy, and MCCPTA President Brigid Howe. Heidi Kakan, Northwest HS student and Minority Scholars Program member, joined as a special guest speaker.
